Hari Kishan

Software Engineer & Writer — Bangalore, India

About Me

I am Hari Kishan, a software engineer based in Bangalore, India. I spend my working hours writing code and debugging systems — and my off hours thinking about food, routines, and how to live a little better without overcomplicating it.

I started cooking properly in college — partly out of necessity, partly because I genuinely enjoyed it. Since then I have kept cooking at home, learning Indian home-cooking techniques, and adapting recipes for small kitchens and tight budgets. Those experiences inform the cooking and food articles on this site.

Working in software also gave me a front-row seat to the challenges of maintaining focus, managing distractions, and actually switching off at the end of the day. I went through the typical cycle — trying every productivity framework, chasing optimization — before settling on simpler, more sustainable approaches. Most of the productivity writing here comes from that lived experience of figuring out what actually works in a full-time, deadline-driven job.

I started VibeAndThrive because most lifestyle advice I found online was either too abstract or written for a very different context than urban Indian life. The goal here is practical guides that respect your time, your budget, and your actual circumstances.

How I Approach Every Article

  • Separate experience from general guidance. Personal examples are identified as personal, while suggestions that need outside verification are presented as general information.
  • Keep claims honest. Advice is framed as guidance, not guarantees, and avoids exaggerated promises.
  • Make it actionable. Articles focus on clear steps and examples that readers can adapt to their own circumstances.
  • Respect the Indian context. Prices, ingredients, and lifestyle references reflect what is actually available and affordable here, not imported advice repackaged.
  • No professional advice. All content is general lifestyle information and always recommends a qualified professional for individual concerns.
